Baptism
Grace Church encourages believers in Jesus Christ to be baptized in water as a key step on the pathway of discipleship. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-20 places that kind of importance on water baptism, not as an essential ingredient in receiving eternal life, but as a foundational way to profess faith in Jesus Christ.
Baptism by immersion is a symbolic way of expressing what happens when a person believes in Jesus Christ and is forgiven of all his sins. It’s like a taking a bath and being completely clean. We offer believer’s baptism at least twice a year for all those who desire to be publically identified with Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Before anyone is baptized, at least one of our elders or staff pastors meets with the person to be sure they have believed in Jesus Christ as the sole basis for eternal life and are being baptized for the right reason.
